Rochester is a golfing destination goldmine for everyone from the beginner to the professional golfer—in fact, its courses are so renowned that the city is hosting the PGA Championship again in May 2023! From the Rochester Golf Trail to our special “Stay & Play” packages, there are several reasons why every golf lover should start planning a trip to Rochester this season.
2023 PGA Championship
Let’s start with the big one—the PGA Championship is returning to the area on May 15-21, 2023, at the historic and world-class Oak Hill Country Club.
First appearing in Rochester in 1980, the PGA has played out in the Flower City three times to date, also hosting the Championship in 2003 and again in 2013. This year, golfers will play the restored East Course at Oak Hill, revealing renovation work completed by restorationist Andrew Green and his team from 2019-2021.
The Senior PGA Championship was also played in Rochester at Oak Hill, with a May event taking place in 2019. Stay up to date with this year’s event details, ticket prices and more at: www.pgachampionship.com.

Rochester is home to three county golf courses located within its parks, providing golfers with a beautiful scenery while they play for a great value. Whether you plan to play one or play them all, you can’t go wrong when you visit our courses and country clubs. Some of the best in the area include:
Several of the above courses offer golf simulators to help you keep up your game indoors despite the weather outdoors. Grab all of your golf gear needs from DICK’s Sporting Goods House of Sport and practice your swing on their golf simulator.
